Because the barrier usually isn't the driving
In thirty years of teaching, the pattern we see most often with women learners has very little to do with ability. It's about comfort — not wanting to be rushed, not wanting to be the only woman in a group of impatient men, and not wanting to feel judged for asking the same question twice.
So we run women-only batches with unhurried timings during the day. The instructor explains, demonstrates, and then lets you try it as many times as you need. Nobody sighs. Nobody raises their voice. If you want to spend an entire session just getting comfortable with the clutch, that's a completely reasonable way to spend a session.
Most of our ladies-batch students are homemakers, college students and working women who want the independence of driving themselves — to work, to their parents' house, to the hospital in an emergency without waiting for someone else to be free.

You sit in the car with the engine off
Seat position, mirrors, where the pedals are and what each one does. No pressure, no traffic, no driving yet.

The instructor drives, explaining as they go
You watch what actually happens with the clutch and gears before you're asked to do it yourself.

You move the car, in a quiet lane
A few metres, slowly, with dual controls under the instructor's feet. Almost everybody stalls. It genuinely doesn't matter.

After the school run, before lunch. Our busiest ladies slot.
11:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Quieter roads, comfortable pace.
